<p>3) Newsweek outsources its educational research to Shanghai Jiaotong University.</p>
<p>4) South Carolina State University is a bona fide Top 10 university.</p>
<p>5) Northwestern makes Tufts look like Northeastern in the Midwest, but in the East, Tufts makes Northwestern look like Tufts in the West… (or something like that…)</p>
<p>6) After all of the arguing, deliberating, speculating, and angst… the 2007 USNWR list is finally out… and the biggest surprise move? Banana Yellow cover from last year’s Neon Yellow.</p>
<p>If you could be stock in colleges Northeastern would be another Google. NEU moved up 17 spots this year in the U.S. News Rankings and 52 spots in five years. This is quite remarkable.</p>
<p>Is it possible that the college rankings process is a for-profit business and we’re all junkies waiting for the latest ‘fix’ of meaningless lists?</p>

<p>Yes…and maybe students should pick schools based solely on school brochures and what they find out on their campus tour…where every school is tied for first and going to podunk state U is as prestigious as Stanford…</p>
<p>That may sound cynical, but I think rankings that use objective data and facts are very useful for students picking colleges based on where those colleges can place them in the future.</p>
<p>i also learned that i am a vain loser. i cannot help but be angry/ upset/ bewildered that my school slipped from 14 to 17 on the rankings. what happened to my life.</p>
