THINK Global School Questions

Recently I have been researching this school. To me, it perfectly fits all aspects I’m looking for in a school.
However, does anyone know if sophomores can apply? Also what are the academics like? I want to attend a good college when I am older. What is life in general like there? Is it nice or weird to have such a tiny class size?
I have been researching A LOT but I would be very grateful for any additional information :)

I can’t really talk about the school itself, but some of my friends are currently studying with them as a host school. They have told me that they are very compassionate, have interesting backgrounds, and are enthusiastic. Also, there is a wide population of Asians who attend the school apparently. Hope you get in, good luck!

@balledtoohard‌ Thank you so much for your view on this school! Do you perhaps know anything about the academics of this school? Do the students fall behind?

I graduated from the school last year, and am now studying at Mount Holyoke College. The academics are very rigorous, and is the priority of the students. However, keep in mind that may not be the school if you want a 45/45 in IB. The experience gained, and the connections made (to not only the students and faculty, but to the guest speakers who come), are very much worth it.

Hey, @Thehopefulwriter I am thinking of applying to TGS for my 11th school year. I was wondering if you know how many of the TGS student graduates passed the IB exam and their acceptance rate into universities. Would you also recommend the school? Can you tell me anything else related to either the school, scholarships, graduating from TGS or applying to TGS? Thank you so much

@ches123 We had a 100% pass rate. I can’t say about the acceptance rate into universities (as I didn’t ask my friends about which schools they did not get into), but I had a pretty good record (ended up at MHC with the 21st Century Scholars program). To be honest, there are a lot of factors that go into TGS. It is a new school, and it is very experimental, so keep in mind that universities are going to be looking at that (there are obviously positives and negatives). I was part of the first class, so there were definitely a few kinks that had to be sorted out (i.e. counsellor was not the best, they didn’t handhold us through the college application process, etc.). However, those processes have been sorted out for the 2nd graduating class (from what I have seen) so I think that was just problems with my class.
I would say all-in-all though, I would definitely recommend this school, if you are curious and care about critical thinking and seeing what you’re learning for yourself (i.e. coming to your own conclusions about the Holocaust after not only learning what’s in the textbook, but going to the concentration camps and interviewing survivors and ex-Nazi soldiers).

I was almost fully funded, and most of my friends received scholarships as well. In terms of application, just show that you have passion and an outside-the-box view of the world. I know people in my school who have started small businesses, published books, and launched photography exhibits, as well as covered for fashion weeks. So show that you not only are accomplished to your academics, but at least one field other than that.
Hope this helps!
