Think HS counselors would want these?

I have 22 pounds of literature from colleges… Not the junky post card stuff, but the nice informative books. If it seems like a lot, well I have twins… and we get 2 of almost everything.

If very current they may put them on their shelves for students to look at.

We sent ours in to the guidance office after we were done. D had a lot of info for out of state LACs that kids at her school normally wouldn’t hear about. Don’t know what happened with them after that.

@AbsDad

Call them and ask. Some schools just aren’t interested in having all that paper “stuff” around.

Also check with your local library and see if they might want them for their college reference area.

I cut or obscured our name and address before offering them to our local public HS who was happy to accept the materials. I’d call around and see. Even some middle schools may be interested as well as libraries.

@AbsDad

Our high school didn’t want ANY of the mailings our kids got from colleges. Not one piece. The schools are able to get CURRENT info if they want it. For them, it was just trash they needed to get rid of.

But they did want our college books…Fiske, Barrons, etc…as long as they were the current edition.

I work in a school…please, please call them and ask before you schlep all this stuff up to them.

^^ I agree with @thumper1 . Give them a call before you approach them with a box of materials in hand and they feel they need to take them to be polite. Same with the library. Even in a year details can change and the hard copy materials become outdated. That’s the great thing about computers! :slight_smile:
