Think I can go here for two years and transfer to U of California (Berkeley)

University of California Berkeley has a very strong Business Program. I was wondering if I go to Rutgers New Brunswick SAS and get a GPA around a 3.8+, would i be able to be a strong applicant for the UC Berkeley Business Program? Both State Schools, but Im OOS for UC.

Getting into the UC system especially for both UC- Berkeley and UCLA is very hard for OOS students. With the California budge crisis, the University will accept more in state students at the expense of OOS students. Also getting a 3.8 GPA is hard at Rutgers, not easy. You also have to look at transfer requirments for courses. Classes taken at Rutgers will probbly not transfer over, meaning you would have to take them again if you are accepted.

I agree with you. Mostly, you will have problems of taking equivalent courses. Although courses might be similar, some schools will not accept. Consequently, you might have to go one more year. As you know, Berkeley is very competitive school. So, you should have above 3.8 to have any chance.
If you seriously considering to go berkeley, you sould go now instead of transferring from one school to another.
