I am finally applying at MIT, so it is time to raise concerns and worries!
I was wondering if my italian teacher could be able to fill the third Evaluation, because I don’t know my principal very well (I guess she hates me) and we don’t have any guidance consuleor.

Yes, please someone with authority help answer this question since I have a similar situation: my principal/administration office is really busy and is unlikely to deal with student issue, normally, if advice about college, life etc are given by our class teacher (teacher representing the class). So since my class teacher is basically like a counselor, can I use him as a GC in general?

I’m pretty confident that the answer will be no: the evaluation that is supposed to be filled out by a guidance counselor or principal should be filled out by a guidance counselor or principal. However, if you feel that your Italian teacher knows you very well and has something to contribute to your application that is not already covered in your other recommendation letters, your Italian teacher could submit a supplemental recommendation letter.

I’m not a “someone with authority,” though. Just an undergrad. Best of luck.

However, I’d call up the Admissions office (or send an email) and explain your situation. Since international schools often have different structures, there may be a possibility that you don’t know about.
