This had better be what i think it is....

Today I got my acceptance letter and it said that I had gotten a $25,000 “grant”. Is that the same as a scholarship?!?!

Yes…a grant is money that you do not have to repay. Where did you hear from before March 10th? And, congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!! Sort of, a grant is usually based on need, not merit or talent like a scholarship might be. Anyway, you do not have to pay a cent back! Ummmmm…aren’t you supposed to wait until March 10?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

what school?

thats awesome!
like everyone else…what school?

Congratulations!

ST. Bullsh cough Academy.

hahahahahaha fun is fun made my day.

Fun is Fun is rude, and he added a sour feeling to my day…

yet again…

Emmers you should know better.

woah. congrats… what school?

congrats, Hank93.

Keep in mind that not all schools have the agreement to wait until March 10 to notify students of their acceptances. My son also has one acceptance which he received in January (no, I won’t post the school name here – pm me if you want to know).

yes – the top schools do have the 3/10 notification agreement, but as we have said many times before on CC – there are many more schools out there.

Awww.

The funster will offer his apologies when Hank profers the name of the prep school that offered him admission in early March with a 25K “grant”.

fun is fun…I’m not so sure; if you look back at the OP’s prior posts, you will see that the schools she was interested in either notify “within two weeks of receiving the completed application”, February 29th, or March 1st.

I think Hank is a girl. If I remember correctly, Hank is the name of her horse. I believe she applied to all girls schools, but I may be wrong.

fun is fun…maybe she is not comfortable identifying the school. I think she is telling the truth, though, just based on the schools she was interested in. They all do early or rolling notification.

go Hank!
whoot! whoot!

fif had a bad day and offers a tentative mea culpa – still wants to know who offers “grants” as opposed to simple FA.

ughhh…ok…fine, whatever…

NMH offers grants.

Go ughhh yourself.
