This is an abomination

I don’t even know what to say about this. Outrageous doesn’t even come close.

Some people truly should not be allowed to reproduce.

What is with the attraction some young women feel towards serial killers, even when they’re in prison? One hears about things like this all the time, if not an actual pregnancy. Just awful.

Ugh! I read somewhere that multiple women were interested in a relationship with Scott Peterson, too.

My understanding is that an imprisoned killer represents the ultimate “dangerous but safe” man to certain women. It doesn’t get much more dangerous than a killer, and it doesn’t get much safer than his being behind bars. I don’t know if this is true or just pop psychology, but I’ve read it in more than one place.

(from the article)

zm - I assume this is what you considered an abomination. Plus the fact that he’s allowed conjugal visits with a girl who fairly matches the 2 he’s already murdered. Plus the fact that any girl would even be attracted to him knowing his background (but this seems to not be unusual that some women are attracted to people not worthy in any way of their trust and emotions).

ucsducladad. I was staggered to see that he is having conjugal visits. I don’t even know what to make of that. The possible length of sentence is shocking.

It’s weird what they do in some of the prisons in Mexico and perhaps some other locations. Apparently in some of them the family can move into the prison and live with the prisoner.

*It is believed that his girlfriend - who has not been identified - has been visiting the 23-year-old frequently for conjugal visits at the jail, going to his cell to do ‘chores’ and bringing him candy.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, van der Sloot uses the candy to run a ‘lucrative’ snack bar from his cell.

Ugh…awful…and just crazy!!!

And…when you think about it…there’s no privacy so the sex has to be going on in full view of others.

Still very sad for the families of Natalie and Stephany. Natalie would likely be in med school now (her dream). Thankfully, Stephany’s father is well-connected and is looking into all of this nonsense.

I just wish Van der Sloot’s dad had lived long enough to see all of this.

I think it is Venezuela where there are luxury prisons. If you want to rehabilitate people, don’t treat them like prisoners. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Eww ten chars

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Van der Sloot has never, to my knowledge, been convicted of anything related to the deaths/disappearances mentioned.

^^ He confessed to killing this latest girl.

Possibly under coercion-http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/06/09/earlyshow/main6563851.shtml</a>
you don’t know what kind of false confessions police commonly obtain-particularly police bound by even less stringent requirements than American cops.

I think the article says Peru. I wonder how it compares to his native Netherlands; they have made staggering advances in rehabilitation to the point where they’re actually shutting down prisons because the repeat offender rate is dropping.

If this man was responsible for the murder of Ms. Holloway (hasn’t been proven, but seems likely), then it’s a real shame he hasn’t been held accountable. Getting less than two years for the murder of another young woman would be a travesty. I’m not really concerned with him having a girlfriend or a child; those are rights. I am, however, concerned with him not being held fully accountable for his actions; we already have reason to believe that he’s a repeat offender when it comes to this. I hope his girlfriend sees the light and keeps the child and herself safe.

Applies to how court cases are treated, not how internet posters discuss murders with obvious signs. Or must we speak of how John Wilkes Booth allegedly shot President Lincoln or how Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly shot President Kennedy. Neither were ever convicted, that I know of.

IthacaKid:

His confession in these circumstances along with the other murder commited under similar circumstances he’s strongly accused of and fled from is more than enough for ZM, me, and any reasonable person to be find that his being permitted conjugal visits from yet another girl to be an abomination - the subject of this thread.

@#15

The article may be about Peru, but I was referencing the prison system in Venezuela, thanks. I don’t know how V compares to Netherlands.

I’m just saying that we can’t condemn him for fathering a child or the woman for engaging in this activity-for now, Van der Sloot must be considered as equal to any other citizen because HE HAS NEVER BEEN CONVICTED OF A CRIME. To deny him this right would be the true abomination.

@#16

“reasonable person” I believe Fox News and Greta Van Sus are the only people who “claim”
to know for sure the Dutch man’s crimes - however, the money and promotion and media spin by Fox News and Greta are well known.

He CONFESSED to murder. And the accusation of coercion holds no water in a penal system in which confessed murderers are running businesses and fathering children IN JAIL.

This animal confessed to murdering a human being – someone’s child. She mattered and so do her parents. They all deserve justice. The animal was also caught blackmailing the family of another likely murdered child. It is an abomination that he still lives, that he will be out of prison in a couple of years to kill again, and that he has passed on his demon seed.
