so i dont know a lot about computers, but i know these specifications probably dont exist all together on one laptop lol. anywhoo, heres my ideal laptop…

processor: quad core, 2 ghz
ram: 4 gb
hard drive: 500+ gb, 7200 rpm
battery: 5+ hours
graphics: 1gb dedicated
screen size: 13 to 15 inches
weight: no more than 7 pounds
backlit keyboard
blueray player
price: nothing in particular, im just curious

whats the laptop that comes closest to this?

Sony Vaio Z series and whatever succeeds it. Though the Harddrive one wasnt much of a challenge so they decided to make a model of it with 4 SSDs in in it.

lol at first i thought u were kidding around and describing the exact stats of a macbook pro until u mentioned blu ray player. But yeah. why would u even need a blu-ray player for ur computer. Most dvd’s would look godly on ur small laptop screen anyways.

^Very true…I don’t know why that never occurred to me lol, plus in the long run it is probably cheaper and why not? Really there is no downside to a laptop with a blue-ray player

This almost sounds like the perfect laptop smiles oddly and looks into camera…until you get hit with the bill lol. Yeah I agree with dannyp32, there doesn’t seem to be a ton of laptops out there with backlit keyboards. Kind of sucks too because it really is a great feature. Its a premium feature I guess though, so its not going to be found on anything lowend. HDD, Ram, Processor, Graphics all seem doable. Not sure about dedicated graphics but i’m sure you could find it. I always thought that 1gb cards really weren’t a big deal unless you needed a larger screen resolution, which wouldn’t really be a necessity on a 13-15 laptop. I figured that out when buying a discrete card for my desktop, but thats a different game altogether. I could be totally wrong though.

theres wireless illuminated keyboards. thats what you need. and then have the monitor on the wall so you can keep the coputer out of the way. That way you wont spill stuff on it.

some laptops im looking at can be configured to almost these exact specifications. which of the following would you recommend: sony vaio s series, macbook pro, lenovo thinkpad w520, and hp envy 14 beats
