This reading should be mandatory for all CCer's dying claw their way into an Ivy

although a very few places in the world crave for captalism though! would u rather want some communism/socialism?!!

Not to make a huge discussion but we need a more regulated market.
That’s all I’m going to say about that

I’d have liked to explain WHY it’s NOT so possible, but to keep the discussion short (as u want it too) I would only say that I can NOT agree w/ u.

all of you random economic people…why don’t you start your own thread or PM each other, just a friendly suggestion so this thing doesn’t get derailed

anyway…this seems fake to me. it’s nice, but I agree with some people who posted before that it’s not really relevant to most of us. that said, the thread title is a disclaimer in itself: it’s required reading for people who are “dying to claw their way into” a certain position. the original poster didn’t say that all people who want to get into Ivies are “desperate to claw their way in” or that they would end up like this guy

Uh, actually, the UPenn Trustee Scholarships are also based on need. The ‘academic achievement’ portion of it merely shunts the need-based aid from loans to grants, based on academic achievement. Hence this isn’t really an ‘academic achievement’ scholarship. If you don’t have need, you won’t get this scholarship.

What about the Ben Franklin scholars program? Isn’t that an academic scholarship at Penn that’s not based on need?

I’m just asking for the sake of facts…I still think that story is made up

Anyone ever read “Fountainhead”

?

Unfortunately, yes
