Those of you with Wide Feet!

I’m a Bigfoot. 10 wide (used to be a medium). I’m looking for a new pair of walking sneakers with a nice wide width in the toe box. Right now I’m wearing easy spirit, which a very comfortable in the width, but heavy. Looking for recommendations!

Maybe Altra, with wider than typical toe boxes? Sites-alt-us-Site

I wear Saucony Omni 2E in width.

I’ve tried Brooks Adrenaline and Ghost and on my podiatrist’s rec, Mizuno Wave Inspire - but the Omni is best for me.

I have 21s…the new model is 22 which looks different but shoebacca still has some 21s (at half price).

They’re running shoes.

If you’re unsure of a shoe, while often pricier for the same, both REI and Fleet Feet have a generous return policy so if you find one you like and buy, but don’t like after wearing, you have some protection.

Maybe you can go with men’s Hoka Bondi 9? Very lightweight even though it is chunky.

Generally my daughter and I both with wide feet do well with Saucony and Skethcers. You really need to try on, as not all their styles are the same width.

My white leather Taos sneakers are uber comfortable and maybe a step up from running shoes. They come in wide (which mine are!)

The only sneakers I can wear are Hokas.

Are you talking “walking around town” or a 5 mile walk?

I’ve posted these before but now have had some experience wearing them. Lightweight, nice padding and arch, to me seemed like a wide toe box - may also come in wide. I would wear them on a day there I am like being touristy and doing a lot of walking but not for an intentional 5 mile fitness walk.

The little bit of leather/suede on the back looks nice. Good with or without socks. I have the “vintage” color.

I also wear a 9-10 in shoes. I have a 10 and they are roomy.

I have a pair of Altra because of the wide toe box and I have arthritis on top of my foot where i need it loose on top and wide at the toe but fitted at the heel. They are great - but, I would remove the insole and replace with your favorite cushion insole. My husband calls them my clown shoes because they are kind of shaped like that, and I wear a 8.5 M.

My favorite sneakers are so old that the model is no longer available but they are Sketchers and I actually bought a second pair online after buying the original pair at, possibly, DSW. Or Kohl’s. I recently bought a pair of Merrill hiking shoes at REI.

I also found this discussion of various lacing techniques. It says for runners, but of course they’re good for any lacing shoe. I redid my lacing for Wide Forefoot and it really did help.

I don’t wear a wide but these come in wide and already have a wide toe box. My then at the time college daughter talked me into buying these for a trip to Europe and I’ve been wearing them now for a few years - have in multiple colors, walk miles and miles every week and stand for several hours at a time when volunteering each week.

I love them so much I almost loathe putting any other shoes on, lol

I wear SAS Tour Mesh sneakers in WW. Expensive – but they have been great. I also have a pair of SAS loafers. A lot of the SAS styles are very “old lady” but a few work just fine. They have a wide array of sizes and widths.

If you have a RoadRunner shoe store near you, they will put you on a machine and figure out what shoes will be good for you. If you join their program, you can return shoes you’ve worn for up to 90 days.
I wear Brooks Glycerine GTS, and I think they come in wide. These are really running shoes, but I only run a couple of times a year. I walk 4+ miles often.

Agree that the Brooks Glycerin are quite comfy.

I have a wide toe box. I swear by New Balance 990s. They come in wide and extra wide. I wear the extra wide.

I have good luck with New Balance. I can’t wear Sketchers or Merrill, as they are too narrow. So clearly a variety of “wide” here. I often buy men’s wide shoes since they fit better. Styles are not the best though.

New Balance and Asics have been great for me!

Altra, Asics nimbus or Kayano. Kuru…

Love my Hoka Arahi’s (best for stability) - I wear a wide.
