I may have already posted, but if you’re a member of their program, Roadrunner has a 90 return policy, worn or not. I’m with you on the some people buy new by then.
I have a schedule that makes it very very hard to get into stores IRL. I tend to buy a ridiculous number of shoes on Zappos - like four or five pair at a time - get them shipped to me, try them on at home, then send all but one back. Since it’s free shipping both ways, the main downside is that I’m basically putting a huge amount of charge on my credit card until I get the extras returned.
For example, my older son is home for a few weeks before he goes back to college and he just mentioned yesterday that his dress shoes really pinch and he’d like another pair. I ordered him four pairs of brown loafers yesterday. Hopefully one fits and we can send three back. If not, then we’ll have to try to hit a store that carries wides.
I was at an appointment right next to the Skechers store today, so I popped in (they had their BOGO 50%, but they always seem to have that). I tried these on, and although I find them a bit unattractive, they were the most comfortable things I’ve ever put on my feet. Skechers Slip-ins: Contour Foam - Cozy Fit
I tried on many styles and none of the others were comfortable enough for me to spend $80, but these are called cozyfit and they actually are! It seems they are the only cozyfit style available in wide. They also have them in men’s sizes.
For my second pair, I picked out these sandals. Again, not a major fashion statement, but I felt like I could walk for a couple of miles through city streets on a vacation. Because they were already on sale , the BOGO didn’t apply, but the sales person gave me a 20% off discount so the total actually came to a little less than I would have spent.Skechers Slip-ins: Reggae Slim - Stretch Flex
The in-store prices were $86 for the sneakers vs. $92 on the website, and the sandals were $48 vs. $75
There are so many styles in each brand. Hoka has at least 13 models many that come in wide. I need a wide toe box and my preferred style is the Clifton. For those who want a Hoka with less of a bulky look try the Solimar. It comes in wide width. I think it’s the most comfortable shoe I’ve owned.
