Below are some additional schools your D may want to consider, some of which have already been mentioned.
Extremely Likely (80-99+%)
Salisbury (MD): Seconding this school of about 6300 undergrads
Likely (60-79%)
Duquesne (PA ): If she ends up opening up to Catholic schools, then this school of 5200 should be considered, though I think Seton Hall & Fordham are even better fits for her interests, though I think this school could work nicely for her if she decides a Jesuit option is okay.
Seton Hall (NJ): Strongly seconding this school of about 6100 undergrads. Again, Catholic, but great program for diplomacy.
SUNY Geneseo: About 3900 undergrads at NY’s public honors college
Wheaton (MA): About 1800 undergrads
Toss-Up (40-59%)
Lower Probability (20-39%)
Fordham (NY): About 7k undergrads at the Rose Hill campus and about 3k at the Lincoln Center campus. It’s a Jesuit school but has so much of what your D is looking for.
Low Probability (less than 20%)
You’ve already indicated that Brandeis has been added to the list, which I think is a great reach option for your D.
I agree it has a lot that the OP’s student is looking for. For this student, I would tend to chance it more generously (toss up, leaning towards likely.) Fordham values the IB diploma.
I’m seconding Dickinson, particularly if she likes Bowdoin.
What are her AP and IB SL scores? If those are decent and she reports those without the SAT (if her score doesn’t change a lot), her academic profile will be good at a TO school.
The sport is a tricky piece. I understand its value in terms of admissions, but she really needs to be committed- year round - to it. That’s a bit of soul searching…
Here’s a third vote for Dickinson. Great opportunities at that school. Franklin & Marshall is not too far and can easily be visited on the same trip. Gettysburg is also not far.
The student did attend a showcase (which suggests commitment), but also experienced an injury. Sports’ injuries often result in feelings of depression if unable to exercise each day–although this may depend upon how intense one’s training regimen was. This is why I commented above that the athletic aspect was interesting.
We do not have enough information regarding the sport and the severity of the injury, but OP stated that her daughter was still open to athletic recruiting if it would help with admission.
Look at West Chester University. Self-contained campus but easy walk to an extremely nice small city. OOS tuition is very reasonable. Not too far from Philadelphia.
