Jeyday has to go home on weekends out of parental “encouragement”.

Jey, I really think you have to explain to your mother how college is supposed to further your independence and how your going home on weekends tires and stresses you out. Personally, every time I go home I don’t get ANY work done, and I sleep until 3 PM. I think it’s very important that you stand your ground and convince your mother to let you stay some weekends, ESPECIALLY around exam time. You canNOT go home then, it’s too detrimental to your productivity.

Jey, I think I saw you going down BruinWalk the other day around. . . 3:30pm~.

Other than - I strongly dislike the 2C readings. I can’t stand section either because it feels like bible study. No offense! Quite the contrast to any secular-ly-topicked lower-division history course I’ve taken.

jeyday you should move some work to monday/tuesday so wednesday/thursday aren’t so exhausting :(

dear CC,
I was really sick yesterday, slept through math but went to chem, then had a fever and half-slept until dinner, then didn’t have a fever, then slept 10 more hours last night. today I’m better but have to catch up on hw that I planned for yesterday…

2 people on my floor watched The Orphanage last night. someone else and I tried to watch it, but it was scary and when I asked “would this give me nightmares?” “yes, I had nightmares about it” we left. the only scary movie I’ve watched is Saw III

kick, i don’t usually make trips between classes. only if in between classes i have at least a 2 hour gap. i mean like, after finishing classes for a day, going back down to ackerman, or to a club meeting, etc. i don’t think it’s always going to be like that, but this past week i made a lot of trips up and down the hill. and about going home, i WISH i can stay… my mom wants me home every weekend but i had a talk with her recently and i think she might be a little more flexible now. i really want to stay on campus, at least SOME weekends…

pink, i don’t get anything done at home either. i just watch TV, go online… i don’t feel like doing anything… i can imagine being at college and actually getting stuff done. when i’m at home it’s like my life is put on hold until i get back there and continue… you know?

mme-lin, you probably did see me haha. you should’ve stopped me and said hi the history readings are a drag… my TA is okay but i don’t enjoy discussing some of the topics either…

tba, i know i should. but there is so much happening in a day and so many distractions that i barely have time to finish next day’s homework. but that IS going to change.

jeyday, yeah clubs that meets on campus can always be a pain but it might be worth it to be involved, definitely try to turn your parents around for the weekend thing, my parents used to want me going home every weekend or at least every other week… but i just show them that i get bored at home, and don’t get work done… now they are kinda relaxed about it and accepted the fact i’ll prolly never live at home anymore (as in after college) so they are starting to see my return as visitor rather than routine home trips…

mme-lin, yeah it is kind of hard to find a seat… haha

kick, yeah i know the clubs are definitely worth it. it’s annoying when it’s held in, say, broad hall… and about the weekend thing, i think mine will turn out the way yours did. but i understand how my parents have to adjust to me being away as much as i have to adjust to college life, so obviously i’m giving it time…

i am back at ucla. i came earlier than usual (sunday morning instead of evening) because my friends wanted to come see my dorm and the campus and they had to leave by noon. so they left a while ago and i’m here. my roommates aren’t back yet. they both left to visit their families back home for the first time since they moved in. so did a couple people from my floor. this is an excellent time to get some homework/reading done.

midterms are coming up and i have no idea what to expect. it’ll be my first time so hopefully things will work out well.

love,
jeyday

p.s. i got some free stuff from the obama campaign today. they are giving out free buttons, u.s. flags, posters, and shirts (yes, shirts!) that say “every woman for obama” on them. so that was sweet. they’re on the side of pauley pavilion; where it leads to parking structure 6.

I want to vote in November. BUT I won’t be in L.A. that day. SO how do I vote in another state? Links & info please. Otherwise I just won’t do it.
