As an Econ major, I really want to learn coding and other IT skills that are not really part of the Econ curriculum (as far as I’m aware). Are these alternative learning sites worth the time and effort? Is it worth paying for a certificate (with regards to the MicroMasters edX program, or the Specializations Coursera program, or the Nanodegree from Udacity) or are they rather useless? Or should I try to get in CS and stats electives in my course schedule instead? As professionals, what does the real world think about these? Thank you!
