What about US to Italy and Italy to France?

France still has a strict 9 pm curfew.
To visit Italy, I believe you have to take one of those COVID-free flights offered by a few airlines. If you just transit via Italy, you’ll need to take a quick antigen test at the airport. Make sure your layover is long enough to take the test.
Here is a post from Delta about their COVID free flights:

Royal Caribbean has rolled over and will not be requiring vaccinations on their sailings out of Florida or Texas.

Unfortunately smaller, less wealthy and less vaccinated destinations had no vote in the matter, and probably can’t afford to go without tourist dollars for another season.
My D has been on two tours so far to very popular destinations in South America that you usually have to book many months in advance. Both tours ended up being private tours at a group tour price with exceptional service. Plus the sites were deserted. She’s had a put on a mask for short periods but the inconvenience is so minimal given the amazing experiences.
If you have been wanting to visit a popular destination overseas and can get there, now is the time to go, imo.
I find it interesting that one still needs to show a negative COVID test: proof of vaccination is not an acceptable alternative.
I think 2022 travel crowds will be over the top!
I was invited to the retirement party of a senior exec at a client in London. He suggested it as a way to introduce me to the new leadership team, which would be very valuable. We have a number of former clients and one client in London so normally I would jump to say yes and spend the week in London meeting with folks. They don’t seem to have a track for vaccinated folks and as long as I am willing to pay for a PCR test in the UK (I think), there would be a three-day quarantine in my hotel. Makes it a little harder to go.
I thought it was still 10 day quarantine in the UK with a possibility of testing out on day 5.
@Sweetgum, you may be right. I asked my assistant to check. I think the regs in the UK also may change on 6/15, but again not sure. My trip would be in July.
British person here with friends and relatives in UK.
Things are changing day by day at the moment due to the Delta (Indian) variant and the start of a third wave. Gvt has a track record of U-turns and last minute decisions that scupper the best laid plans. Even when they announce changes e.g 6/15, these can then subsequently change with no warning.
Thanks @CollegeMamb0, I’m on the phone now with a UK colleague who says the fearless leader says June 21 but that it will likely be three weeks later. I will make reservations but keep tracking the ever-changing guidance.
yes, I would bank on the later date!
fearless leader lololol
Our vaccines are only 95% effective, so 1 in 20 people will not be protected. Just imagine how many people you will pass just walking through an airport terminal. If you travel overseas, there are people whose vaccines may not protect them against variants and there are a lot of variants outside the US. For me it’s not worth the inconvenience in case I have a positive (false or not) covid test before I board a flight home.
DW booked our tix today to Dubrovnik and Rhodes, Greece; about a week in each locale and staying with friends or family so no need to deal with hotels. It took her quite some time as some airports seem to be easier to transit through than others but she is satisfied with all and DS and I are looking forward to it.
This is not correct. It is worth repeating what 95% here really means:

A good friend just went back Australia to visit his elderly mother. Even though he and his wife were vaccinated, they are still required to stay at a hotel (at their own expense) for 2 weeks before they are allowed out. He said hotel is 350/night and they have no choice of where they could stay.
I am going to Italy for a food and wine tour in Oct with few friends. I splurged on business first airfare because I haven’t traveled in a while.
My family is considering a Club Med xmas vacation. We all need a nice beach vacation.
ARe you doing this on your own, or using a tour company. We are looking into this ourselves and are not sure how/what to do. (on our own, use a company, etc)
