This small little Catholic film school down in San Diego called John Paul the Great Catholic University has been extra willing to accommodate for me since they first e-mailed me. They gave out a free application (which everyone got if they applied before a certain time), “interviewed” me (which was 40 minutes of the VP of admissions selling the school to me), and accepted me within days. They’re now insisting I come and visit, and are covering most of the costs of the visit for me since I live on the east coast.
I like them very much - their program sounds specialized enough to where I can indulge in my filmmaking skills to the fullest right in freshmen year. However, considering their insistence on getting me to come (I normally only get this much attention from southern public universities that have acceptance rates of 60+ percent) and their relative newness, I’m worried if it’s a good choice. I’m certain it’s a fine school, I just get a weird feeling about it like there may be a catch. Thoughts?
