Thoughts on life

I used to consider myself spiritual… I used to read the upanishads; practice abstinence and celibacy. But now I’m a hedonist. I’ve become what I used to hate. And I’m ready to get back to being centered. At the same time, I know this college thing won’t help me with that. Getting a job is just going to make me miserable in the long-run, because there is no mainstream “job” for me. Heck, I’m a senior in resource conervation, and I cant even explain what that is.

Eastern spiritual thought has always inspired me. I also love the orient… I can’t explain why. So I am thinking about going to phuket and staying in a meditation center for awhile… The center also offers TESOL certification and job placement. Probably I’ll go in December when there’s no school… that way, I still have summer, 2012 for an internship that will allow me to earn some money. I’ll try to finish my degree…

Go work in fast food for about 6 months. Seriously, it’d sort you right out.

I have no clue what is going on in my life, at all.

SOPHOMORE SLUMP

So you’re thinking of teaching English abroad? That’s a great idea!

Yap. I see a lot of demand for that, plus I’m hoping to join the peace corps ( PC is one of the only paths toward working abroad, in resource conservation, acording to my professor). I’ll have to research it more, but apparently there is a 4 week TESOL certificate program in Thailand. That’s way better than the internet TESOL program I was looking at.

Not sure what this means. But I have worked. I’m a 29 year old Army vet. I just finished some temp work at the state fair. I also had a stint at wal mart, but I quit after 1 month.
