Thoughts on Schedule?

<p>Hi there!</p>

<p>I’m an incoming freshie and I am in the AEM program. ALthough I’m not sure I want to study business and may transfer to A&S in the case that I do not, I want to take as many AEM courses as possible to see what I’m interested in. I am also considering taking French (continuing) so should I add it or wait until later? Thanks.</p>

<p>I am taking 5 classes including PE–not sure if too little or is that okay for an incoming freshman, but please can I have some feedback on the schedule/classes?
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>I’d recommend taking French. You know what they say - “use it or lose it.” Moreover, if you really like the language you should continue it. From what I’ve heard, language instruction in college is much less rote yet much more in-depth and rewarding than it is in high school.</p>

<p>Do you really need PE? I’m just wondering.</p>

<p>I think you should consider taking a business math class: you know, econ, calculus, etc. No, I don’t actually know anything about business math, but it sounds like something that’d be useful.</p>

<p>1) I would not worry too much about taking French the first semester. use it or lose it is right, but once you’ve studied a language a bit, the using absolutely doesn’t have to take place in the classroom. take advantage of the French-language content generated every day and available freely on the internet, and you will have even improved skills by the time you take a course. </p>

<p>2) why are you taking Psych? I am not saying it is a bad choice, but it just wasn’t what I was expecting to see cropping up in your schedule.</p>

<p>3) what is your background in economics? if you don’t have AP micro and macro, I would considering taking one of the intro courses. they’re not supposed to be too hard, it would help you decide on AEM, and you could probably use it to fulfill some requirement in A&S if you decided to transfer there.</p>
