Thank you! Can you please elaborate on what to expect in the first round? Will there be any student evaluation during the in person session or is it to showcase the school and they evaluate based on the essay?
Hello, we received an email invitation for a mock interview webinar for APME University of Arizona. I assume this is something that was sent to all applicants, but just thought I would reach out and check. Anyone else apply to this program and received this email?
Sorry to hear that. The undergrad is TCNJ and medical school is Rutgers. I think my daughter got the interview a few weeks ago but isn’t scheduled until early next month. I’m guessing if we got rejected from SBU, the chance of a interview with the direct GW program is unlikely.
We got that email from APME too and had the exact same reaction Nothing wrong in being positive and hopeful. However, I learned that of the 5 BSMD seats, only 1 or 2 may go to OOS students.
Can we expect to hear from RPI/AMC, Rutgers/NJMS, VCU and UAB before the break? Any other school?
Someone told me today their grandkid got into Brown in ED. What are their current policies for PLME - ED students are considered?
Yes
You can apply PLME as ED applicant or RD.
For yours and others reference pasting their website link… Pls read the “Before you Apply” section here – especially the last line of the section.
Except for Wayne State, all EDs are binding even if the institution only offers you undergrad admission and rejects for BSMD.
Does anyone know anything about University of New England BS/DO program? I heard someone got into their 8 year program with less than 3 GPA and 25 ACT score. Is it a high weed out program?
I would be concerned about graduating college with those numbers let alone medical school.
Drexel notification about application forwarding to med school is on the portal.
You may need to check the less than 3.0 GPA and even for BS DO may not be correct. 25 ACT is low and may be cut off to apply and not necessarily that they select at that score.
As far as BS MD most of the selected had perfect GPA close to perfect SAT and ACTs.
Do RPI/AMC supplements come in January too?
Thought people might be interested here, PLME will be changing policy to allow students to apply out to MD/PhD programs without losing spot at AMS. Applying out for MD only is still not allowed.
Does VCU honors decision come separately from the bsmd interview decision? Received honors admission.
They are all usually separate processes. Sometimes one might be required to get into a specific level of admission if the school says so to qualify for next level but it is not always related. Both my kids were given highest level scholarship from Pitt but neither was invited for GAP as an example.
Yes. As @texaspg said in general terms, specifically here, VCU honors admission is a prerequisite for VCU GMED invitation. However getting VCU honors admission does not guarantee a VCU GMED invite.
You can get that information from their VCU honors and VCU gmed websites.
I am of the opinion VCU undergrad trains their students well. I know one who graduated early (3 years), wrote some papers while there to go to Baylor and completed on time to join Orthopedics. Was at AWS Las Vegas last month and walking around the sphere and bumped into his parents who are local to me! Another person who went through 8 years joined residency in Houston and did quite well with getting a lot of interviews.
