Question about SLU medical scholars program. My kid got admission notification for undergrad with Vice president scholarship. Question is on

  1. Where can we see the status of medical scholar applications? On the portal it only shows the undergrad . Except for an email confirmation of the receipt of med scholar application we did not see any status
  2. Does the presidential scholar ship need any other separate application? Checking if in case we missed to apply any
  3. How selective is the med scholars next steps?

Thank you

If you go thru this page you will find one person. We are not supposed to give out directly. If you Google you can find few companies.

Any tips for the Stevens Interview?

Just curious, when did you get the interview with Stevens? My D also applied but on the checklist it still says interview PENDING. Thank you

I saw some posts on Reddit BS MD stating UIC GPPA interview emails came a couple days ago. Just trying to verify if this was accurate. We also applied to this program, but sadly have not yet received a communication :frowning:

The email came last week.

Hi , You got Vice president scholarship ? What was your scholarship amount ? Mine says University scholarship, $37000 annual. I had applied for presidential scholarship. But i do not see any update.

My S did not submit specific scholarship and honors applications to schools that didn’t require honors application along with BSMD application. Too much work to do without knowing if you’ll get an interview or not. Is this a bad strategy?

We debated about the same thing. It is a lot of work if there is no intention of going there. I was waiting to see if any interviews come through and may we will apply then.

Just curious, is it zoom or in person? Thank you

Can someone please post which schools do in-person interviews and which ones do virtual? In previous years, did students have conflicts with in-person interviews?

Has anyone heard from the following schools?
University of Connecticut
Drexel University
Rowan University
UMKC
Hofstra

We keep checking the student portals but have not seen an update. I am guessing we may hear something after the new year.

  • Brooklyn College BA/MD: Virtual, 1-on-1 interview with BS/MD advisor or BS/MD Program Director
  • Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program/CUNY School of Medicine: In Person interview, Three 1-on-1 Interviews (one with MD student, one with faculty member, one with dean or admissions committee member) all on same day.

Yes, we did too and got the email.

Anyone got interviews from LKSOM, VCU, and Union (any feeder)?

Does anyone understand how the SUNY Upstate Accelerated Scholars Program (UAS) program works?
My daughter was accepted to ESF, Syracuse, and ACPHS and her application was sent to UMU from all 3 schools but when she was contacted from UMU for an interview, it only said ACPHS. She wanted to know if she can be considered for UMU from more than one school and if she would be considered independently for each pathway, or does she only get one choice?
Thanks for any help in advance!!

For Upstate BS/MD, they decide which undergrad school you will be selected from.
They make the choice and in your daughter’s case, they decided on ACPHS.

BTW - the program with ESF has been discontinued.

Thank you for the info

Are you sure ESF program is discontinued?

My D received an email from ESF’s director of admissions on Jan 3 saying that her application is being forwarded to UMU. In the email they also included the recommender information which is needed for the UMU supplemental application.

Finally, the email ended with the following quote:
“We wish you the best as your application moves through the UMU UAS review process and hope you will be selected as an ESF/UMU Upstate Accelerated Scholar.”
