According to Reddit posters - ESF has one year left on their contract with SUNY Upstate.
It seems only Syracuse and ACPHS will continue in the future.
Why is this? Are their students better prepared than the other programs?

ESF: As per Upstate, only Syracuse and ACPHS are in play this year.
If ESF is still on, that is good for students.

But, as far as you are concerned, it does not matter as Upstate chose ACPHS.

Upstate realigned its enrollment strategies and focused on recruiting students from the Central New York (CNY) region for comprehensive medical education at Upstate in order to bolster the physician workforce in CNY.

Based on specific institutional circumstance, capacity, and deadlines, University of Syracuse and ACPHS are the only two they decided that may continue to accept candidates for the UAS track.

So, is there an in-state (NY) preference?

We just got an interview yesterday from W&J/LKSOM with the chair of health professions committee. The zoom interview is for later this month and our understanding is that this is one more screening step prior to the application getting pushed to LKSOM.

I assumed that UAS does not just prefer in-state students, but also those who live in CNY this year.

My daughter also got selected for UAS supplemental application , it’s through ESF. ESF has UAS program for one more year .

Does anyone have breakdown on UAS supplemental, interview invites and final section?

My eldest daughter is a first year medical student at Upstate. She was selected trough UAS program from RIT in 2019. According to her, there is no much difference in performance level from UAS or traditional routes.

How many students per school? in the old system, Syracuse and ACPHS has 5 seats each.

Do W&J-Temple and ACPHS-Upstate invites come in waves or we can assume a reject if there is no email yet?

We don’t know yet. I am curious since they closed all of the other programs I am not sure if they increased the spots at those that remain.

Upstate always had an in-state preference, but it is NOT as pronounced as U-Cinn.
I was told the same by Krystal Ripa many moons ago.

The reason is what Jetfang communicated.
The decision to reduce feeder schools was taken by the Dean, legal, and the CEO.

It has nothing to do with the performance of students from different feeder schools.

It is the same this year.

Upstate: In the past, they have had 3 (and occasionally 4) interview schedules - one each in Jan, Feb and Mar. Now, with reduced feeder schools, we do not know.

W&J: They do come out in waves but most of the invites are sent by end-Jan.

I heard Syracuse has more seats this year, 10. Other schools have 5, but most of the time they don’t fill all the seats. I don’t know why!

Has anyone received an interview from AMC?

One of our students has.

How many days after submitting the supplemental did he/she get the interview invite? Inperson or virtual?
