Augusta Professional scholar’s decision date is listed as April 1st on their website but dental scholar’s decision came out today. Do not know if medical scholar’s decision also came out today.
Some instate people on Reddit say they got bsmd decision. Augusta does so few OOS so not sure if they are out for OOS or not.
How is Augusta admission different then FAU? Looks like they have interview too?
FAU seems to be a better option than Augusta with lower MCAT requirement, undergrad major/minor is not restrictive, one interview instead of two with Augusta, encouraged to apply out, and wilkes honors college especially has good research facilities. GPA requirement is 0.1 higher at FAU. I do not have a comparison of the medical colleges. Not sure if MCG is better. Want to hear from the experts.
Thank you, more concerned about getting into the Medical College, also Augusta college is no where and it is rural and vibe will be so different.
There are EAP programs that your son can apply during sophomore or junior years. Pick a good undergraduate school/program and maintain good GPA and apply to these programs. Don’t lose hope due to BS/MD rejections. My son got into the UF MHP after getting rejected from BS/MD programs.
Can you please share which undergrad he chose before transferring to UF? Was it from a BSMD?
He went to a traditional undergraduate science program at a state university.
From what I have known with close sources who took both choices, Augusta was guaranteed in the sense a seat was placed in although MCAT and application are more of steps however for FAU Interview is on and I have heard of students who applied out to other med schools although at FAU. So while at AUGUSTA the path is pretty much set. To me AUGUSTA seems more guaranteed path, please correct if wrong. Augusta could be better pick over FAU if both places offer admission IMO
They are not bound to FAU , they can apply out which is a good thing right?
Also Augusta has MMI interviews, not sure if they reject any one though
Yeah not sure if Augusta rejects anyone and the MCAT GPA Cutoffs are less. As for MCG I know alumni who got matched decent. With FAU it’s typical pathway unlike guaranteed med.
Looks like Augusta has less requirements and MACT 503 around? It is guarantee program unlike FAU, wondering why they need interviews,
I have emailed them and am waiting for a response.
Just got the Augusta BS/MD rejection email.
Hello everyone! I am the current president of the Penn State Premedical-Medical (PMM) Program. It has been a long standing tradition for the current president to make a facebook group for all accepted students. As such, I’m happy to share this year’s facebook group!
For some reason, this thread won’t let me send a link on this post. Instead, please DM me for the link. Alternatively, just search “Penn State/Jefferson PMM BS/MD Program, Class of 2031” on facebook and you should find the group.
Please ONLY request to join the group if you have already received an offer of admission (whether you have committed or not). This is also ONLY a group for accepted students, not parents! Most PMM students did not have a facebook account at the time of applying (myself included), so now would be the time to make yours. This facebook group will be used from now until you guys start at PSU in the Fall in order for current students to communicate details about preparing to start at PSU, as well as other events the student board is currently planning.
Please feel free to DM me with any questions, and apologies in advance if I respond slowly.
I could be wrong but CC might be blocking facebook links.
One of my friend’s daughter got into SLU BS/MD program. Does anyone know how that program is?
It is against ToS to post referrals to consultants or other commercial products on the public forums. Users are welcome to provide general advice and answer questions about applications. Thank you for your understanding.
We discussed SLU quite a bit a couple of weeks ago up the thread.
It looks like they accept 120 but only 20 make it to MD. Go back to around post 770 and you will see several posts.
