Ok last year was a total disaster for me. I got 3 Cs in trig, physics, and Italian (final grade). Freshman and sophomore year I got all As with the exception of Italian in which I got a final grade of a C in both freshman and sophomore year. This year however I got 101 average in AP bio, a 100 average in pre - calc, and I’m not taking Italian so my average went up. The only class this year that I got a B in was AP ploy sci. I’m also taking human anatomy which I got a 100 in and English honors which I got a 92 in. Then I have other required subjects like religion 97, and Eco 93. These were my 1st quarter grades and my 2nd quarter grades are similar to them. Assuming I have excellent ECs and a very good essay. Good subject test scores and a decent ACT score, will my jr year put me in the rejection folder? I go to a very good private high school.

The answer to this question completely depends on what schools you apply to. You’re a senior - where do you apply?

I applied to 5 big schools and a bunch of safe schools. All of my big schools are reaches for me I know that but in general, will this really affect me?

Are you asking if getting 3 Cs your junior year will impact your admissions prospects? If so, the answer is yes.

So my Sr grades dont matter, I’m not going to get into a competitive school either way?

OP - you’ve already applied and now you just need to relax and adopt a wait-and-see attitude. If you really want to ask people to chance you (a waste of time if you ask me!), you need to give some details - what colleges you applied to, GPA, SAT, etc.

Everyone feels anxiety while they’re waiting for admission decisions, and it’s really natural to try to find reassurance somewhere, but you’re really just going to have to wait and see what happens. If you applied to a bunch of safe schools, you’ll be going to college next year, so congrats - it sounds like you were smart in creating your list of colleges to apply to!

Nobody said that - you’re over simplifying and “awfullizing” (as my grandmother used to say). You filled out your apps - keep up the good senior grades and enjoy your last semester of high school!

Nobody here can tell you anything about what the school will do - you need to let it go and not obsess!

Your right

And keep up the second semester senior grades, just in case you find yourself on a wait list.
I love the invented word “awfulizing”!
