Does Stanford care if I am a three sport athlete (pretty decent, varsity as freshmen, but nowhere near good enough to play D1 or even D3 in my opinion) when applying?
I love sports but they take up a lot of my time so I feel that that Stanford will see me as just an athlete who doesn’t pursue academic EC’s…

btw, I am attending Phillips Exeter Academy next year as a new sophmore, if that makes a difference

Sports are just another EC unless you are amazing enough to be recruited
IMO they don’t care whether you have academic ECs, community service ECs, or athletic ECs, as long as you work hard to achieve a lot in what you want to do

BUT they will definitely care that you go to Exeter.
attending exeter at least doubles chances compared to the average applicant, but they will still want to know that you took advantage of what was available to you, which is A LOT…but that’s not what you asked about.

MeSsIaH, before you reply to what I said, think about it this way: Two applicants of the same caliber academically (regardless of essays, recs, etc.); one goes to Exeter, while the other goes to an average public school (maybe even an average private school). Now, I am almost 100% sure that Stanford would admit the Exeter student at least 90% of the time. (Note: my percentages were only used to accentuate my point).
