Three year graduate chances

<p>I am mainly posting this chance me thread due to special circumstances as a three year student. I am wondering whether lack of as many classes and time spent in EC as a four year student will hinder my application. </p>

<p>SAT: 2040 (CR - 680, M - 670, W - 690)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 (UW) 4.57 (W) W defined as +.5 for honors and +1 for AP</p>

<p>EC: Mu Alpha Theta (math honors society) - precalculus coach for final year (9, 10)- ~60 hours as a math tutor - 48 out of 251 for MAT precal competition
Chess Club - Cofounder and President (10)
Science Honors Society (10)
Social Studies Honors Society (10)
IMACS Tutor (math tutoring) (end of 10)
Volunteer at nursing home 75 hours</p>

Social Studies Student of the Year
Precalculus Student of the Year
1st place at MICA Grand Prix Chess Tournament (k-12)
Principal’s honor roll (6x)</p>

<p>unique aspects: Three year graduate (Parents moving back to Minnesota year after next and did not want to spend last year in new school), legacy for University of Minnesota, first generation American (parents from Russia). </p>

<p>Classes taken: 2 AP (bio, Euro) 10 Honors 2 Regular (Spanish - honors not available) </p>

<p>Summer: Calculus 1 at University of Minnesota</p>

<p>Wow. We have the EXACT same SAT scores. yes. for each section too. EXACT. That is creepy.</p>

<p>I got into NYU with similar ECs and lower GPA. I think you can shoot much higher than your list.</p>

<p>Thanks for your response; it makes me feel better to have someone with similar credentials make it into NYU. As a response for why I’m shooting for UF versus name-brand private schools:<br>

  1. I want to stay in state
  2. I would rather not pay large sums of money for private colleges, which I am not really sure would provide a better education.
  3. Many of my friends are going or want to go to UF.</p>
