Ticketmaster Class Action Lawsuit

Have you checked your Ticketmaster account to see your vouchers as a result of the class action lawsuit settlement? I just did and in addition to small fee vouchers, I have vouchers for 28 free tickets.

@doschicos - thanks for the reminder. All I rated was $2.25 off one purchase and “two free General Admission tickets for eligible events”. Woo hoo? I guess it’s better than nothing.

I haven’t been able to discern what "eligible events"we would have access to. It’ll be interesting to see how restricted the options are. If a show is all GA, that’s ok with me.

Actually, I’m not so excited. Upon reading up further on the “free ticket” thing, its not so straight forward. Here’s some details from a recent billboard.com writeup. Definitely not so exciting. (:expressionless:

"Class members will also receive ticket codes that have the potential to be redeemed for free concert tickets in about a year if class members don’t use up a certain amount ($10.5 million annually) of the discount codes. If this shortfall occurs, Ticketmaster will release roughly 100 tickets each for a majority of events at Live Nation-owned or operated venues. Each ticket code may be redeemed for two tickets.

“The events and venues selected will be within Live Nation’s sole discretion and may also include Live Nation clubs such as the House of Blues,” the settlement document reads. “Live Nation has the right but not the obligation to make tickets available at venues other than its amphitheaters.”

Ticketmaster has promised a dedicated website for ticket codes that will be used to notify class members when new tickets become available. They will be available on a first-come, first-served basis."

I have 17 discount coupons, and 17 free tickets. LOL.

This sounds way too confusing to check into, especially with what sounds like an awfully small potential payout.

I agree, @VeryHappy. I’m sure it was done in an intentionally confusing and cumbersome way.

With anti-trust laws as they are in this country, how does Ticketmaster exist anyway?

@trojanchick99 Each free ticket voucher is good for 2 tickets, so my guess is you have double the free tickets. 17 vouchers is the max you can get, so you maxed out.

Somebody is going to a lot of shows.

I had an email from them a while back, and thought it was spam. I have a vague memory of creating a Ticketmaster account many moons ago, but I can’t recall if I ever did use it to purchase anything.

It’s based on tickets sold between 1999 and 2013 so that’s a long span to remember!

I have 4 free ticket codes and 4 discount codes. I will take what I can get. My 16yo D attends all age concerts at House of Blues frequently, so hopefully we can use some of those free discount codes for those shows.

I’m pretty sure we bought plenty of tickets between 1999 and 2013. How can you tell if you have free tickets or discount codes coming your way?

I have none but I know I have purchased tickets but not online. I used to go to ticketmaster at the dept store.

Teri, log into your account and look at Active Vouchers.

Thanks, doschicos, I wouldn’t have known. And I suspect some digest of all the wording will show up on other sites, translating into simple English.

I’ve also got the two free whatever it is and two $2.25 discounts. Yeah, Woo Hoo. But we’ll see. My kids might benefit.

I’ve got three free tickets and three $2.25 discounts. It’s something!

Looks like the bottom of this page has a link to subscribe to emails about eligible events-

I have 10 free ticket codes and a whole bunch of 2.25 off.

I bought a pair of tickets just this week. $39.70 in charges. $37 in fees wouldn’t have felt much better. Ticketmaster is the worst.

I have 8 discount codes for $2.25 and 8 free ticket codes. The free tickets are for 2? That’s a bit better. Even better would be if they would have to send us cash! That would hurt them a lot more.

Oh, and I clicked on the link for eligible GA events for the free tickets and “that page could not be found”. Figures…

I have 17 free ticket codes!

Plus 17 of the $2.25 discounts.

Just signed up for the emails notification for the events.
