Tide detergent -- Is it just me?

54: sax, a spammer resurrected this thread to pitch some questionable coupons, then someone else posted something, and the thread got going. I (and possibly others) reported the spam - it is gone now. This is how old CC threads get a new life sometimes. :)

No Tide in this household either. Can’t stand it. AND it’s also one of the most expensive laundry detergents in the stores. We use All Liquid.

I use whatever is on sale and/or have a coupon for.

Woolite HE or All Liquid from Costco here.

When I bought my front-loader (Maytag Neptune) probably seven years ago, the salesman told me not to waste money on ‘HE’ detergent. Suggested I just use smaller amounts of the regular detergent. Followed his suggestion and have had reasonably good results. I’m not the pickiest of all laundresses, but it’s worked for me. Does anybody know what sets HE detergent apart from the plain vanilla version?

I know HE detergents produce less suds. Consumer reports recommended the HE detergents as being the best in their tests of detergents.
