Ties between Emory and Columbia?

How much will going to Emory increase your chances to attend Columbia for graduate school (e.g. PhD)?

Besides predominant Jewish populations, I can’t find much about the connection between the schools.

Increase as opposed to what? First, there’s a huge difference between PhD admission and admission to professional graduate programs (e.g., law, social work, and medicine). Second, if you’re really looking to go for the PhD degree, you can’t just pick out a school. You will apply to tons and tons of schools, many of which will accept 10 or fewer out of hundreds of applicants. Where you will apply will be dictated by the specific interests you have in pursuing and the focus of the department/faculty.

I’m not sure what you expect in terms of ties between two schools and chances of admission–and what kind of graduate school you want to go to is going to make a huge difference in the effect that the Emory name has.

There is an official connection between Emory and Columbia: EDUCO, a joint Emory, Duke and Columbia study abroad program in Paris.

I think Emory grads have very good chances to go to top rated PhD programs across the country.

Does that respond to your question?
