Tiger Ten Spirit Mission

Well Hornet…an inflatable Tiggerific Balloon on the hill. Go Tiger Ten. Hmmmmmm wouldn’t the observatory make a wonderfull Eight-Ball. I know it has been done before, but still, and they have to come up with something better than the Eight-Ball on the parade field at parents weekend.

still doesn’t beat painted planes, a huge “V” (for 5) on the chapel, or J. Reg’s hat on the chapel

I tried to encourage Potter to get two big plastic “Eight-Ball” decals that were magnetic and could be easily removed from the Tail of the F-15 on the T-zo. Response has always been the same “Dad we can’t do that the plane is off limits”. She really won’t break a rule to save her life. Thought she would have a heart attack after they told them they were in trouble for the parade field.

painting the plane last year was obviously off limits too, but we did and had to live with the consequences. its a balance between getting in trouble for a time vs having that memory for a life. i wasn’t too fond of it to begin with, but a majority decided, so all but one of us did, and we had a blast (and all got equal punishment, involved or not)

DISCLAIMER I do NOT encourage anyone to in any way break the rules DISCLAIMER

… unless its funny as hell …

well hell isn’t that funny, and i don’t remember 38 doing anything. 35 was decent

OH my bad bro… correction please sir, “… really really funny…”. Dude I was just stating if the spirit mission is extremely funny, insane/awesome, original etc., then the trouble is usually worth it.

lol. i’m just giving you a hard time. as i said, i thought it was, since we painted a plane last year. i just made the disclaimer so no one can say: look what eagle wanted us to do!

and my squad didn’t really do anyhting this year either. its just a bad class for spirit ;)

:) I do like the tiger! I have pictures with it now. I like having good spirit missions around me…the big “V”, the tiger…yay. 10 days!

Kinda like the “04”…although that one nearly got the involved parties disenroled…

Mitch’s is off limits. So are the tunnels, the planes, etc.
Last year, we tried to hang a banner off of the roof of Mitch’s…but discovered that duct tape does not stick to metal at zero degrees!

IMO, sometimes spirit missions are worth it. Just be aware of what the potential consequences are.

Magnets Ramius Magnets…not as cheap duct tape, but not going anywhere on metal.
I really do think Tiger Ten will be hard to beat this year though. That thing was giant…(Legend I do believe). (Not meant to be sacreligious but) Makes the Chapel look like a litter box in one picture I saw. Did they hold it down with cables?

does anyone have any pictures of the spirit mission?

They used two sets of bleachers to hold it down (had cable connections on it). I have some good pictures with it!

…unless we could have found some neodymium magnets, they would not have stuck. I’m talking about a large banner off the roof–with high winds that night.

Here is a link to photos of the mission. I hope it works.

what da know… link is blocked at usafa…

i saw it, that’s massive!

Of course that Tiger is awesome. What a beautiful, clear blue crisp, cold day. Imagine waking up to that on the T-zo!!!

My question: How long is/was the tiger allowed to stay on that hill there for all to enjoy?

it was there all day

Already posted in another thread, but it is better here I think:

On another note, General Desjardins called our squad comm into her office to inform him that 10’s spirit mission was the best she’s seen thus far. yay!
