My D was waitlisted at Tufts, and that was one of her top choices. She will probably accept Berkeley which she’s pretty pleased about too. But… her heart is still yearning for Tufts. If she were to be given an offer off the waitlist, would Admissions be looking for an immediate, on the spot decision from her? How much time does one get given to accept an offer? I hope Dan cam answer this, or someone’s who’s been through it before? Thanks for your advice.

I am currently in that situation, first off congratulations on Berkeley. I believe that we have about 24 to 48 hours to make the final decision. I think the decision would take me all of three minutes.

do we only have 24-48 hours left? I thought it was until May 1

This thread is referring to waitlisted applicants. They think that they’ll only have 24-48 hrs once they hear from Tufts sometime /after/ May 1 (because the school can’t send out waitlist letters until they know which accepted students will attend).

Regular decision applicants who have been accepted have until May 1 to respond.

than you triggy, for the waiting list i think we had until the 24th to decide whether we wanted to stay on. I am thinking about taking a gap year, traveling and studying and reapplying maybe ed

Ohhh I’m really sorry, I think I misunderstood what you were saying! I thought you were talking about if you hear from Tufts (that you got off the waitlist), how long you would have at that point to decide… or maybe you were?

Never mind, disregard my post… sorry about the confusion!
