Apparently, alumni interviewers have until Dec 1st to get their reports in - so, I’d assume that’s when they start taking applications to committee. How does the admissions committee have enough time to review all these applications then? Let’s say the regional people cut down the pool to 2000 and that they review applications until the 14th of december. Let’s also say that they take 10 minutes to review each app. By my math, they would have to be reviewing applications round the clock in order to make decisions in time. Of course, they don’t do that - so where am I thinking wrong here? Maybe they only spend ~ 5 minutes an app and/or start before Dec 1st?

they probably start reviewing applications before interviewers even turn in their reports…the interview doesnt have that great an influence…they probably sift through the applications and throw out ones who simply aren’t qualified numerically and have no considerable hooks…although that’s probably less a 100 in the early pool…my guess is they review a lot of the applications in late november and have a lot of them organized into categories before the alums even send their reports
