Time's New Person of the Year 2007: Is it completely ridiculous?

Is it? I think it is. Discuss.

[Welcome to a World Full of Idiots](http://www.worldfullofidiots.blogspot.com/)

(thats my blog, and i didn’t feel like copy and pasting everything i said there, so read it, then come back and discuss lol)

oh yeah
didnt they model dobby in the harry potter movies after him?

im sure they did. what an idiot.

i know huh
i just cant believe him of all people
my god

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? PUTIN? that’s effin stupid.

Nope…not at all …who should b the person then??

I lost count of how many times you used the F word.

:P
Very flavourful hahahh.

shrugs Why not? Who do you suggest?

I’d like to point out something. Do you spent your time ranting in a blog that no more than 30 people will ever read about an issue of little (or, rather, of no) importance?

I have to say, your blog sucks. It’s a long-winded rant filled with little substance and lots of profanity. In short, you’re Maddox without the writing skills and sense of humor.

And why is it a big deal that Putin is the Time’s Person of the Year? You can’t deny their reasoning behind it. Russia will probably be an extremely important country in the future and Putin has (and will have) a huge impact on Russia’s future. Whether or not you like his policy’s, you cannot deny that he is important.

I don’t agree w/ the choice. TIME’s four runner-ups were all better:
2. Al Gore (my choice and the greatest man alive still active/newsworthy)
3. JK Rowling (not so much a world-changer as a talented imagination/great rags-to riches story)
4. Hu Jintao (Has changed the economic landscape over the past 5 years)
5. General Petraeus (Don’t know enough about him to determine whether he’s done a good job or not, but it sure is a tough job)

russia might have an influence in the future, but it won’t be because of putin. and as for that post, it wasn’t like that before…i only changed it afterwards and i was pretty ****ed

Yes it will. Putin has changed Russia. Russia is an important country. Ergo…

All cats are mortal.
Socrates is mortal.
Therefore, Socrates is a cat.

Um, duh.

.

Aristotelian logic is fundamentally flawed.

So the guy maneuvering to be the a potential Stalin has no influence in the world?

Jeez…do you have a better suggestion?

Person of the year has nothing to do w/ being better or worse…rather who’s more “influential” sorta thing…so, I find it justifiable…it was shocking…but, I welcome it. :)

You might have been closer if you had said:

All cats are mortal.
Socrates is a cat.
Therefore, Socrates is mortal.

I mean, it’s logically sound to say that “Russia is becoming influential again due to changes made in recent times. Putin made those changes. Ergo, Putin has been influential.”

putin’s muh boooiii!
reppin’ the Родина-мать
