TInterval "Domain Error" on Ti-89...Any ideas?

So i input my list into list1, i choose TInterval after pressing F7, i set my List: to 1 and my Freq: to 1 and my C Level to .90 and all i get is a “Domain Error.” I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. This can come very conveniently during the exam so I’m trying to fix it now. Any ideas?

Try to get or borrow a TI-84 for that exam, since it’s way easier to do statistics with it. I haven’t used lists on the TI-89 for a while, but trying making your list “List1” instead of just “1”.

@Condenser, an 89 is actually surprisingly more useful. Everything you need is set up in one application and you don’t have to remember what goes after what when you’re putting in commas (as you would on the 84). I still haven’t been able to fix the problem, if anyone has any clue…

You’re sure? Because I’ve had this problem a few times, and it’s always been that I put “1” instead of “list1”.

you can use an 89 on the AP test??

@amarkov, if you look at the screen it says “List:” and it expects you to put the # of the list that your data is in, in my case it is 1.

@thrill, yes you can! It’s very useful at times, you should definitely check it out.

wait, can I use it for AP Calc too? xD

not that I desperately need it or anything, but all my high school life I’ve been told that I can’t use the 89

That’s the thing. You have to put the name of the list, not the number (since you can name a list anything you’d like). So you have to put “list1”, not just “1”.

You can use the 89 on any AP exam that allows calculators, including Calculus.

What you can’t do is use the TI-89 in most AP calc classes. It’s hard to force kids to learn how to do symbolic integration when they can just plug it into their calculator.
