And Chanel also discontinued my favorite, Sublimage Le Teint.
Maybe I will have to give that a try. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but concealer is my #1 need… would be willing to splurge if significantly better than the many other I’ve tried.
I follow a makeup artist on IG (katealbertmua) who has a lot of tips for applying concealer
Thanks. I watched some of her concealer videos. LOL - either she does not have dark circles under her eyes… or she covers them before filming (would rather see her start “from scratch”)
@Colorado_mom I find with concealer, that it really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
For dark circles, have you tried a peach color corrector first? I have one from Clinique. I dot a VERY SMALL amount just where the darkness is, let it sit for a minute, then use a concealer brush to pat it in (don’t swipe it).
Then I use foundation over this (doesn’t matter if it’s powder, liquid, cream). I often find I don’t need to use concealer. The concealer I have is the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam concealer.
A concealer I’ve heard rave reviews for but haven’t tried is from Sarah Creal Beauty. It’s really expensive.
A beauty influencer who DOES have dark circles is Glam Girl Gabi, although she’s significantly younger (40) she focuses on women over 40.
Fiera concealer is my magic. Covers everything like a glowy second skin, lasts all day, does not settle into lines.
Thanks. I watched her long (18min, with ads) concealer video during breakfast. Interesting product comparisons. Scroll down at link to see list of products, and then an list of products & link to that part of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBi3umqDfX4
At one point she gave a before-makeup view, to show her undereye lines.
Yes, that’s been my favorite so far (have tried Clinique, two kinds of Tarte, It Cosmetics, Natasha Denona, and some others), and the first one I tried was very good, but when I went a shade darker on my second purchase that was even better. Of course I have to make sure to have good hydration and eye primer on first. Lately I have also been putting a teensy bit of color corrector under the concealer.
I’ve not heard of corrector (or primer). So today I bought some peach corrector to try, just $5 elf brand for proof of concept. And a brush. It may all be for naught though since most people also wear foundation, and that’s never been my vibe. Though it is fun to hang out here with the cool kids ![]()
I think you could still do the color corrector even if you don’t wear foundation. It may also look good with a layer of tinted sunscreen over it.
I have discoloration under my eyes (a lifetime of hay fever allergies) and feel like I’ve tried every possible concealer on the market, including most of the ones previously mentioned. I’ve watched tons of TikTok videos by creators claiming to have no beauty filters on and have bought products based on the videos and have applied the products as directed (I’ve used brushes/fingers/sponges and have applied a variety of tapping & patting techniques).
So far, I have yet to find a product that actually does what the marketing/content creators claim it does. Nonetheless, the ones that I currently like are Natasha Denona and Hourglass. I’ve also used and liked the Nars creamy concealer. I apply these in combination with my foundation and then at the end of my routine, I tap a light finishing cover on top (using a small brush or sponge) with either Tarte erase tape stick or a Bobbi Brown creamy stick. I set it with a purple tinted setting powder from Tarte.
I tried Fiera once but had a hard time working with the consistency. I realize that you have to warm it up with your fingers before applying.
One thing I’ve found that helps with concealer is the tip for a dot or two of a pink blush with dots of concealer. Let them sit for a minute and then blend with a brush. It works like a color corrector and brightens and doesn’t settle into lines under my eyes.
Just got a few items from Jones Road. I bought the Miracle Balm in Bronze, applied it all over my face and blended. It looks great, like I have a bit of a tan ( I’m fair skinned). Also tried the What The Foundation which I also liked. It was light but evened out my skin tone.
