Tips for battling depression while in college?

While I am of course excited to begin a new chapter in my life, I also have to admit I’m terrified because I’m afraid of having my depression getting in the way. I’m afraid Ill hate college and then I’ll be really stuck and truly unhappy.

I do not plan to look back home.
I worked so hard to get out. I may not be going to a selective school, but I got myself somewhere, and I got financial support to help with my dream of an efucation, even if I don’t become a doctor someday. I at least owe myself a pat on the back for that.

Do any college students or even parents have any tips for how to manage depression in college?

I’m not afraid to be alone, because I have been, I’m just afraid that won’t change in college.

BTW- If ANYONE ever needs to talk on here, you are ALWAYS welcome to talk to me! I’m pretty active on here and know what it’s like to need someone just to listen.

Get busy in whatever way you can. Get involved. When I’m busy I have less time to be sad.
