My AP English Language midterm is tomorrow, and its basically going to be an essay about “something to do with America.” I have to use the readings from the semester (the 11th grade curriculm) as evidence/analysis of the thesis. In other words, I am going to have a prompt like “What is the American definitition of Courage?” or “What is the American view of individual vs. society?” and I have to relate them to novels/characters.

Any tips for last minute prep? Especially with how to get to that point of “depth of thought” needed for a 9 on a free-response?

My books are:
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Nora Zeale Hurston
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Crucible by Arthur Miller

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut
