Tips for SAT?

Hey guys? Can anyone give me advice for SAT’s critical reading and writing? About how to write good essay, how to prepare… And also for vocabulary
Thank you.

if you can, get Erica Meltzer’s The Critical Reader. Then, go crazy with all the practice tests you can get your hands on (take them timed and in one sitting). Correct all your mistakes and understand each question so that you could explain it to your younger sister. Repeat until you’ve mastered! For vocab, I suggest getting the Magoosh SAT Vocab app if you have a smart phone or tablet. Otherwise, reading in general and looking up words helps a lot. Read The Scarlet Letter. This allows you to see words in context.

Writing

Practice, practice, practice! This is the easiest section to improve upon in my opinion. There is quite a small number of rules which, once you understand them well, you’ll raise your score immensely. For the essay, also write a lot of practice ones using prompts from past SATs. Think of things you’d be passionate to write about, whether personal, literary, or historical.

In general, it just takes a lot of practice tests and understanding what the SAT will throw at you. Good luck!
