Tips for studying? + my freshman year schedule

Hi everybody! I am starting out high school and I am just looking for some study tips and wanted to also go ahead and share my schedule to see if there are any specific tips that someone can give me!

1st Period: Spanish 1-2
2nd Period: Strength and Conditioning
3rd Period: Pre-AP English
4th Period: Honors Algebra 2
5th Period: AP Psychology
6th Period: AP Biology

The pre-req for AP Bio was Algebra 1, not Chemistry, which so far I’ve found a bit odd now that we’ve started to get into some of the biochemistry stuff. Is there anything specific about some of these classes I should know? Any study tips? If it helps, my strong suits tend to be math and sciences (although life science in specific I am a bit weaker at than other kinds) while my primary weakness is English, especially reading comprehension. Hope you all have a great rest of you day/night and I hope you guys can provide me some tips!

Get the book linked below. It’s a fast read. It’s written for college students, so things like the daily schedule will be different, but it excellent for time management and deep focus. Airplane mode, a timer, a calendar and half size notecards will be your friends. Good luck.

Different specific things work for different people, but I think some things are more or less universal themes for HS kids.

First, make sure to have a regular, ample sleep schedule. If you find studying is interfering with that, change something else, don’t try to make do on insufficient sleep. I cannot emphasize enough how much this helps.

Second, don’t fall behind and then plan to catch up. If anything, try to get ahead so you have a margin for unexpected interruptions. Be prepared for class, start assignments well before they are due, and so on.

Finally, if you don’t quickly understand something, get help fast. Ask your teacher. Ask another student. Go to a tutoring center. Don’t waste a lot of time trying to do it on your own if that isn’t working for you, because ultimately the modest time and effort you put into getting effective help will save you much more time and effort that may still not work.

Think 5 senses when you study.
Eyes - read index cards or make online quiz
Ears - read the material out loud, make a video , play it back
Touch - type the notes again, or draw comics putting important words in it, etc
