Is there anyway to not second guess yourself during the Critical Reading section? Often times I find my initial answer is right, yet I actually get more questions wrong by analyzing it for an extended period of time.
I’m godawful at Critical Reading, but I do have advice for this very question.
You said it yourself. if you’re stuck between two answers you’re not sure about, then stick with the one that you’d pick first.
don’t overthink things - if the answer choice FULLY compliments the passage, more often than not it is correct
The answer becomes clear if you scrutinize the answers as much as possible, and actually set out to disprove each answer choice you’re deliberating between. A natural habit, at least for me, is to gloss over certain words because I assume that I know their definitions, but sometimes the key in why an answer choice is wrong lies in that single word, whose definition might have a slight nuance that you didn’t catch the first time.
