Tips Please

I’m in the 8th grade and I currently have a 4.0 g.p.a. Right now I’m taking Algeba 1 and my English teacher wants to recommend me for some Advanced English course next year. Am I doing good so far and any tips?

Welcome to the Visual Arts and Film Majors thread.
hehe anyways,
I’m guessing “Advanced English” is honors english class? I’m not too sure.
You should take it if your teacher recommends you too and if you feel like taking the next step. I believe once your in highschool your GPA matters so currently your 4.0 does not matter. Except making you feel good about yourself.
I am guessing you are doing good?~

p.s.

I think you meant to say Algebra* you silly soon-to-be advanced english student you.

Ooops my bad about Algebra! And thank you!

Hi jellygirl,
Congrats on your 4.0; I wish you good luck in high school. What kind of tips would you like to hear? about art schools? or how to make a portfolio? Snowbird

Hi jellygirl, You’re doing great! My advice would be to take a variety of classes in HS and continue to challenge yourself. Take the Advanced English class, because as you progress in HS you will probably be able to get college English out of the way before you graduate. Your gpa is important; you will be able to take more advanced classes if your teachers/guidance counselor recommend you for that track, and also your high grades show that you are dedicated and disciplined. If you can build on your skills you will be in good shape to succeed in college. One more thing: if your interest is in the arts, it would be helpful (and hopefully fun!) for you to take summer classes at your local community art center, an atelier for HS students, or similar program. You don’t have to commit to a whole summer; even a couple weeks would be great! Good luck to you!
