Tips to succeed as a McGill Student

Hey guys. Any tips on how to do well at Mcgill? Please give particular advice, not clich

hmmm…

u dont need to do nothing special…college isnt that hard

enjoy urself tho…university years are the best years of ur life…

Go to lecture, even if it feels like a waste (which it often will).
Study during the day at the library. Work w/others in the study rooms and help other people out, the karma comes back to you.
Don’t be ashamed to ask for a tutor in a really hard subject.
Don’t cram, it doesn’t work at McGill.

Don’t waste time and energy stressing out over grades-just keep trying your best one day at a time. If you get a bad grade in one class, don’t give up and decide your life is over, one bad grade doesn’t matter if you do well in the rest of your classes. That said, make sure you get A’s in the classes you find the easiest, this will balance out the inevitable B’s.

First: be independent. Don’t expect anything to just happen for you.

Second, disregard some of what the above poster said. If lectures feel like a waste, you’re not taking the right classes. Avoid the library unless you need a book. And procrastinate through socializing. That’s what undergrad life is about.
