'Tis the most wonderful time of the year- playoff hockey of course!

SHAAAARKS!!

Ugh. Watching the Tampa/Pens game. Even when its in our (Pens) favor, I HATE when refs review a goal and retroactively call offsides. HATE IT.

Those new cameras are likely going to have that happening a few times in the games ahead. It was gutsy of Sullivan to make that challenge so early in the game. Losing the timeout could possibly have been costly. TB certainly didn’t look like they had come to play in the first two periods. Too many giveaways, not enough shots, totally outplayed by the Pens. The Pens even scored one of TB’s goals.

Looking for a good game tomorrow night!

Loved that national anthem by Tony Lindsay!

I do not like reviewing for offside.

I know it was put into place because someone scored a goal last year on a play that was literally 2 feet offside… it was an atrocious miss by the linesman. But attempting to review frame by frame is, IMO, ridiculous.

I can’t believe it!!! I’ve been a Sharks fan for 21 years. I’ve waited so long.

So the Blues lose, after I shift my allegiance to them (from the Caps). I’ll be taking bribes of various sorts from fans of the Pens, Lightning, and Sharks to get me to cheer for their upcoming opponents.

Glad Wardo is going to the finals, but Brouwer played his bleepin’ heart out. Fehr still has a chance to get to the finals, too, but I gag on the Penguins making it, though I have no affinity for TB.

What if they had been able to stay with the Caps…sigh.

Well, at least one Bay Area team will be going to the finals this spring.

@“Cardinal Fang” Big congrats! I know you’ve been waiting for this for a long time.

Let’s Go Pens!

Anyone remember my prediction in post #19 on this thread? Hehe. Go Sharks!!

What a great game by the Pens!

It makes me happy that two former Leafs, who were traded this year, Kessel and Reimer, will be in the SC finals.

The Sharks thank the Leafs for Reimer.

But even more, the Sharks thank the Kings for Jones. The Kings would not have traded to a division rival, but Jones was a Bruin for about a millisecond before he was traded for the Sharks’ next years’ first round pick. During the season, when Couture was injured and the Sharks lost six in a row, fans were grumbling that Doug Wilson should have never given away what looked like it would be a lottery pick. Heh. #29 or #30.

Yeah @pickpocket . It could be very fun to see the Sharks play the Penguins. And have the Penguins beat em. I love Penguins, not too keen on Sharks. But I prefer birds to fish . Good luck to both teams!

@“Cardinal Fang” I think I read that the Kings were made aware that Jones would be immediately going to the Sharks as part of the three-way trade. I’m so glad they didn’t block it. One big reason (IMO) for Shark’s history-making season is solid goaltending. I’m very impressed with both Jones and Reimer.

congrats CF! Exciting time for you for sure!

Let’s Go Pens! We know four people that are at the game tonight. I hope they win as as one of them , in particular, is definitely not a happy camper when they lose!

I’m getting too old for OT games. I’m happy that the Pens won as they have totally outplayed the Sharks in the first two games. Their speed is at its peak, which is pretty amazing considering the length of the season. Combine that with their work ethic and their incredibly effective defensive play and it has smothered San Jose. My guess is that the next two games will also be tight.

didn’t expect the Pens to win the first 2 games… they win 1 in San Jose and they are in full control.
