Religion class is very annoying.

^ don’t you have the option to attend moral science class?

Next week I get to meet & listen to this highly accomplished individual from Delhi.
[Siddhartha Mukherjee](http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/11312)

His book, “The Emperor of All Maladies” is a must read.

Siddhartha Mukherjee

Stanford->Oxford->Harvard->Columbia !!!

In the link I posted above there are several interesting interviews. They are all worth watching if you have the time. I love watching Charlie Rose interviews.

My first interview is gonna be with Pton !!!
It actually interviews EACH and EVERY applicant from India.

Pton admits from India were 8/318 last year

Abt the interview, yeah it does try and interview every applicant. And they’re proud of this fact …
See this about the india interviews from their website: [Princeton Club of India](http://tigernet.princeton.edu/~pcindia/)

I just realized that I don’t like Indian dishes without any salt.

There were only 318 applicants to Princeton from India in a year ? I would have thought thousands apply to top US colleges from India.

^^Have you read this popular Czech fairytale? It was one of my favourite stories when I was small. [Shadow Of My Own: I Love You More Than Salt - A Fairy Tale](http://roshvinder.blogspot.com/2009/11/i-love-you-more-than-salt-fairy-tale.html)

^Hi there Luci! Long time, no post? (I’m one to talk, lol)
Well, it’s not like all Indians aspire to go abroad for undergrad. It is mainly PG that gets more focus.

ivycollege- that figure (8) is without waitlist. A few (I’m not sure how many) were accepted off w/l. Guitarclassical had mentioned that his numbers didn’t include w/l.

Here is the prayer I was talking about; I love listening to it.
[YouTube - Hum Ko Mann Ki Shakti Dena](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

Here are the lyrics in English:
*Oh God, Give our mind strength, Give victory to our minds
Before we cheer the victory of others, make ourselves victorious.
(spiritual meaning could be let us gain the victory over our mind)

Let our hearts be free from any kind of discrimination.
Let our hearts and mind be always be ready for forgiveness.
Let us be saved from the lies and untruth and let the truth prevail

If we find ourselves in Difficulties, please do this much,
We don’t forget the sacred and be with the sacred,
Confidence on the self remains and we do not fear the evil.*

My mother used to sing me to sleep with this when I was small. Although I did not understand the significance at that time, it has remained in my mind and heart since then.
Originally from a Hindi film, Guddi, it is now a very popular devotional and sacred song, sung as morning prayer song in various schools across India (was in my mother’s school too).

^ Very nice pixie. Thanks for the links and the translation.

That is so sweet. Moms are special. We can never forget their kindness and unconditional love.

Hi Pixie. I just came back and did not have much access to the internet.

I remember a college adcom mentioning that if they did not apply some kind of “quota” then their classes would be filled with indian and chinese students. So I thought they were getting thousands of applications. Maybe it is just that every indian applicant is worth being admitted ;)

^^Shouldn’t you be at school or something Tippu? Or is the inexplicable illness that often struck me during senior year plaguing you too?
I agree. :)

Luci- Ooh, yes. How was your trip?
Haha, maybe? I have heard that international applicants, especially from India/China sometimes have to settle for schools that are lesser than what they deserve. Okay, I’m supposed to be doing some work, and then logging off. Toodle! Hope we can talk later!

What does Toodle mean?
The trip was great but tiring and…wet!

toodle: to say goodbye

Got my first interview request! It’s from Middlebury.
cue hyperventilation

^you will do great

Nope.

Hi guys!! I just got back from a school Kairos retreat.
Absolutely a life-changing experience.

Out of the ~50ish students in my grade and 7-8 teachers there, there was not a single person that didn’t cry.

Like holy moly, I was bawling most of the time there.
