To all 8th graders planning on attending BS

Congratulations on being accepted, but now that you have been, are you feeling anxious to finish this year?

Well I’m in 10th grade…and I can tell you I’m anxious to finish!

Hehe. I wish it was already September, actually.

Maybe I can hibernate til then.

Haha, the title was a mistake. It really applies to ALL people who have been accepted somewhere, not just 8th graders, my apologies.

of course! I want my experience at my current school ( i moved recently) to be over and done, i hate this place!

Oh, I never realized CC wasn’t on Eastern Time! That is strange…

I don’t wish it was September already …but I want it to be summer. I need to get smarter…stronger…and better at all my sports lol. I don’t want to feel behind when I get there.

I’m sorry about that Izzy, but soon you’ll be far away, haha. Sounds almost magical.

yes. it’s such a relief to know that I won’t have to stay here!
same here, mpicz! my life this summer (when I’m not on the blessed Motherland, the Gulf Coast, instead of this wretched Canada) is going to be sax (tons of practice), reading (all the books that I need to read to be “well-read”, i.e. Jane Austen and the Shakespeare that I have not read yet), and shopping for supplies (mostly just bedspread and personals. I will wait till I meet my roommate to make a Target/BBB run for chairs and lamps and curtains and stuff.

IZZY!!! I play sax too!! Do you do Jazz Band of any type?

no. I left my other school and couldn’t audition (my band director REALLY wanted me to), and I came to my new school AFTER jazz band auditions, so I’m stuck with concert band (NO MARCHING BAND HOLY CRAP NO MARDI GRAS GAH!). I do play some jazz at home though, with my dad. we’re like a tenor/alto duo!

I play alto , you?

Hahaha, interesting. Sorry to hear about your missing auditions, though. Do you play tenor or alto, I play both (not a tough switch at all).

This is like senioritis, but SO much worse, because none of my classmates are going through this.

I intend on spending my spring “enjoying the time I have left with my current classmates”. Meaning, friends, parties, flirting, dances, lacrosse games, etc. etc. Then spending the summer doing pretty much the same thing minus lacrosse and the hold part where you have to learn (ugh, haha not really I love learning). Oh, and going to Costa Rica this summer.

I feel so nerdy on this site (not that nerdy is a BAD thing, and you guys seem like you enjoy it). I just found it one day when I was totally preoccupied about schools and started googling this stuff and it came up! And now I’m on it from time to time.

I’m not feeling the senioritis. Especially b/c no one would have ever seen my grades (aside from my family and my school, of course) anyway. I mean, don’t you get senioritis b/c your grades stop mattering? They never really should’ve mattered in the first place.

I feel like I’m cheating as I’m writing this b/c I’m not technically in yet. I got waitlisted at Lawrenceville and between my letter and the call my mom made to the office, they really want me in and will probably put me if and when they get room. (God I hope they get room.)

Yah, I just want to get this 8th grade year over with. I’m learning about quadratic functions and parabolas…

I’m probably going to be the youngest kid at BS. I don’t turn 14 until august…

I’m one of the youngest right now, so I’ll probably be average or one of the oldest next year lol. When I was going into 9th I didn’t turn 14 till september lol. Shows you how young I am compared to my grade…even though I don’t feel it. I mean a few months is nothing

Did you skip a grade? Most people who have not skipped a grade turn 14 from middle-end of their 8th grade years.

To P1na: Well, I see your point about ‘senioritis’ and that it is about grades, but do you think that for some people they want high school to finish and go to college?

No I didn’t skip…and ages confuse me. I jus know Im a few months “young” for my grade. But what eva

i really hope:
i understand that a lot of people want to finish school and start their new life, but i mean this “new life” we’re getting next year isn’t going to be perfect, and this is the last chance we have to live full-time with our family and to spend a lot of time with our current friends! i mean, i’m soo excited for next year (even if i dont go to BS) but i’m gonna enjoy these next few months cuz theres not gonna be anything like them ever again.

looking back you said ppl wanting to go to finish high school and go to college, i realized i never really answer ur question. i’m sure a part of them is hoping for that, but at the same time i know that high school seniors have a LOT of fun (meaning partying) after they get accepted to colleges. so i think that even tho they’re excited to leave they still want to cherish the time left with their friends and family, like we should!
