To all Jewish CC friends

Not sure, but we might see a movie. Maybe not though as kiddo is due to arrive tomorrow!

Had the Chinese food last night. Our synagogue has a movie event planned, and then I’m off to the airport to pick up D who is arriving for a couple of weeks. :)

We’re going to PF Changs tonight - and driving around the next suburb where they have a tradition to light luminaria throughout the town. With rain and slushy snow predicted, not sure how nice it will be, but we’ll give it a try. We’ll also drive around looking at holiday lights - upscale neighborhoods means elaborate decor.

Having friends over. We’re making lobster and brussel sprouts w/pancetta tonight. Friends are bringing apps & dessert. Playing poker after.

No canned crab? ;)

At some point along the way I decided I could give up pork and shellfish. Dim sum was the true loss. :frowning: I do console myself with sesame balls and egg custard.

Definitely having Chinese tomorrow, just not sure about a movie. S2 gets in tonight and I’m not sure if he’d rather go to the movies or watch sports on TV.

Anyone read this book?<a href=“UCI historian publishes ‘Chop Suey, USA: The Story of Chinese Food in America’ – UCI News”>http://news.uci.edu/press-releases/uci-historian-publishes-chop-suey-usa-the-story-of-chinese-food-in-america/</a> Our local journalist is planning an article on the subject.

We would usually be going the Chinese food route but we are actually going to a professional basketball game with a noon start. How many non-Jews would be leaving their house at 10 a.m. on Christmas morning? We got the tix free from one of DH’s business contacts, 4 rows off the floor with access to the dining club with all the gourmet food you can stuff in your face, LOL. Since the team stinks, we’ll probably spend a lot of time sampling everything we can get our hands on in the food area. :)

We are picking our younger son up at the airport late this afternoon and, yes, stopping for Asian food on the way home. Close enough to Chinese food I guess.

“No canned crab?”

No canned crab.

H did ask if we should get some frozen corn on the cob shuddering at the thought

Momof3sons - I’ve spent a few Christmases at the Knicks game when I was in college. What else would 3 Jewish new Yorkers do? But we were in the nosebleed seats.

We are having our traditional Christmas Eve party. Honeybaked ham and turkey, vegetarian lasagne, some veggies…and so we can do the trifectah of non kosher…shrimp in dill sauce.

We went to the annual party at our daughter’s boyfriend’s parents’ house. His mom and family are Christian … and get Chinese. So I got both worlds.
