Happy Hannuka, everyone!

Why thank you! :)

There are SO many ways to spell Chanukah. I usually spell it this way. My boys will be home from college tomorrow, so it’ll seem more festive. I’ll light the candles tonight, though. Whatever you celebrate, katliamom: Hope it’s a good one for you too. Best wishes for a Happy New year!

Happy Chanukah! (Always spelled it this way and always will.) Off to the store for potatoes, applesauce, and sour cream. Mmmm.

Thanks, Katliamom. We moved recently, and I’ve been so focused on the myriad errands associated that I didn’t realize until around 3 pm yesterday the chanukiah is still at the other house. Oops! It’s really not a problem, but I do think it’s kind of funny it had slipped my mind entirely.

Thank you @katliamom and Happy Chanukah!

Thanks and Happy Chanukah everyone!

Happy Chanukah everyone. I see we all spell it the same way…must be how it was spelled when we were young.

I’ve always spelled it Hanukkah.

Thanks you Katliamom and Happy Holiday’s to you & yours.

ditto

and cheers to Alan Gross’ family.

Happy Chanukah! May our homes stop smelling of latkes before the New Year!

Amen, bevhills.

Our home just started smelling like latkes! And it might for some time - grocery store had 10 pound bags of russets for $1.29 so I got two bags.

As an ethnic Jew, I love latkes. I don’t celebrate Chanukah anymore, but I do somewhat identify with Judaism since my mom’s entire family is Jewish (or at least used to be Jewish). Latkes are delicious though. Who knew fried potatoes would taste this delicious thousands of years ago?

Happy Chanukah to all. We had latkes last night and tonight so we’ll have to take a break for a few days. Always light the menorahs and both of the d’s do as well.

Yes, but do you build a sukkah? ;)

I had kids tumbling into class onTuesday talking about holiday and final exams and dates. I heard a bit of “no, it’s tomorrow” and " no, it’s today". Then a clear calm voice - “Evidently I’m the only Jew in the room. Trust me, it starts tonight,”. Kids just stopped silent. I loved it. Then some wanted me to correct her language “can she say Jew?” Teachable moments every day…

And Happy happy to all who are celebrating with lights and latkes this week.

I’m hoping to have some candles going by Friday. I could have bought a new one, but I like the one we have! Happy chappy (be sure to hawk up the chappy… lol) to you too, Dragonmom, and everyone here.

Back when my kids were little, we had a hanukkah party with the neighbors - devout Catholics, the mother/grandmother became our youngest’s surrogate grandma. Mary turned to Jackie and said, “So that’s what the weird candelabra we bought is for.” They bought a menorah at a Church sale without knowing what it was. So they gave it to us and we use it. I miss them. Mary died at a ripe age but Jackie was taken early by cancer. Most wonderful people.

Happy Hanukkah everybody.
