<p>OK, guys. I don’t know whether or not you have seen my “venting” thread (do search cuz im not quite sure where it’s located). Anyways, it seems to be a success and the people who use it seem to enjoy it. So, I have decided to start another thread (on the Ivy, top college, and college admission forums) to help soothe the emotions of the over-stressed CC’ers. Simply put, anyone on these forums who has gotten into any ivy league schools (or something comparable) and tell of any competitions they DID NOT win, any tests they DID NOT ace, etc. Bascially, show the frazzled CC’ers that you are human, that you are not god. Thanks to all who respond!</p>

<p>I got under a 1400 on the SAT and made the dean’s list spring semester (top third) in pratt.</p>

<p>Under 1400 on the SAT as well. Wasn’t in a single club until my junior year of high school. Got a ::gasp:: C on a report card in AP English Lit. AND I didn’t get a single 5 on an AP Exam.</p>
<p>Yet I’m completely surviving a Duke education:)</p>

<p>First of all I’m a NC resident…that helps a tad. Ok, so I was deferred early, understandably. Basically I just never really let up and pretty much let Duke know I was obsessed with them. And then I got an acceptance in April:) It’s a good story, and goes to show that you definitely don’t have to be like, something surreal to fit in at Duke.</p>

<p>Well, ok, I kind of lied because I guess my biggest EC was the fact that I’ve been dancing for 15 years, and my essay was on that and all. It’s just a huge part of my life. Other than that I was just in a few usual clubs and stuff, officer of one. Really nothing intense when it comes to that. I’ve also had the same job at a learning center for 2 years or so, and my employer wrote a letter and stuff…it’s a wonderful job.</p>
<p>Ummm…dancing for 15 years is a bigger EC than almost anything. You get an 11 out of 10 for the EC category + NC resident = decent chance of getting in with competitive scores.</p>
<p>Well I mean, it’s not like I danced competitively or anything, and I’m not really involved too much at Duke in anything except classes (yet). The only thing I really had was commitment. I don’t have awards or anything like so many other people do.</p>
<p>But that’s cool. I mean, it can’t make up for everything, but I guess it was kind of a big thing.</p>
