<p>What do you think was that extra something that got you into Cornell? (excluding the stats like GPA and SAT) </p>
<p>I don’t think I can single out any one factor, but one thing that might have helped that I was a female applying to the College of Engineering. Cornell likes to try to even out the male-female balance, so that might have helped me. I’m also from the Midwest, which is a somewhat underrepresented area. </p>
<p>Other than that, nothing particularly comes to mind. I don’t know how my rec letters were, and while I had good extracurriculars there was nothing spectacular. It was probably just the sum of everything.</p>
