To be a ball player to get into HYPSM or to not be a football player? I CHANCE BACK

Okay so heres my resume so far.

I am a sophomore at a high school full of stupid people
but i am number one.
and my prospective SAT score is 2200
im your normal indian kid.
but not really
so heres what ive done in my life so far:

im gonna be on the varsity football team next year but its gonna take up my life. so like right now i have morning weightroom and i have to get up at 5 in the morning to go lift with my team. but during the season next year in my junior year, i would have practice 6pm everyday and then come home exhuasted everyday and then i would have to deal with my coursework. this year it wasnt that bad cause im only taking 2 aps: stat +macro. next year its going to be a bit different.

coursework for next year:
ap physics
ap calc ab
ap calc bc
ap lang
ap us history 2
ap micro.

self study for next year:
ap euro
ap psych
ap environmental science
ap human geo
maybe (ap comp sci) - does anyone know how to self study that?

as a senior:
ap spanish
ap gov
ap chem
ap world

so basically, i would be crying throughout the day.

heres my extracurriculars:
president of fbla ( i went to states my freshman year. do i have to place again?)
president of dodgeball club (raised over $1,000 for charity)
member of nhs
student member of my towns board of education
student member of my towns economic development committee
400 hours of volunteer service
im a public tutor at a local library

so i really wanna do the m&t program at upenn or go hypsm. so i know that ive gotta show my interest in math and science. does anyone know how to start my own math olympiad team or something like that? thanks so much guys, i just want to go to college already and just leave football and everything and high school behind.

let me know what i can improve on and if you need me to chance you or anything
THANKS SO MUCH GUYS. IT MEANS ALOT.

Huh everything is a bit odd with your school, usually people take Chemistry before Physics and NHS is for juniors and seniors only.

You can’t really “predict” your SAT scores tbh, but if you must I would say…

You have a good reach at the Ivies and MIT, but I never guarantee to them just well there unpredictable.

I highly doubt you will get recruited by HYPSM to play football.
Your ECs don’t stand out enough for top notch schools.
You’re an ORM.
You didn’t take the SATs yet so your score isn’t certain.

So from the information provided, I really doubt you’ll get in.

Why are you taking both Calc classes? The CollegeBoard doesn’t allow you to take both tests in the same year. Is that the deal you cut with your school so that you could go straight to BC?

Is your projected SAT a result from pSAT practice tests? Those, and maybe the PSAT, are the only ways you can get a “projected” SAT score.

From what I gather on these forums, FBLA is one of those extracurriculars that doesn’t count unless you do something on a national scale/something equally impressive.

Errr…how are you taking APUSH-2?

okay so heres what happens for calc.
i take ap calc ab in school
then bc after school for like 40 min which is what all the smart kids do.
the psat is a project guidance counselor score for me
and the apush2 is for next year. im takin hon us1 this year, and ap ush2.
but what do you guys think about football, should i continue playing or drop it?

Are you going to be good enough that it would stand out on an application?

Edit: Sorry about the misworded question. Most people just call it AP US History - the way you’ve worded it sounds like you take two classes for one AP test, but they are both weighted as AP.

Keep playing if you enjoy it, but being recruited is very unlikely. Remember these are D1 schools. And heck Stanford’s been on fire with Andrew Luck. They’re gonna be looking for top notch talent.

I have friends who have been recruited by Princeton and UPenn to play football. They arent great students but are good enough to stay in sports. (Average gpa and scores) Those schools have different areas where they recruit, and you’d have to live in that area and/or go to football camps. I must say, though, that you really have to be an outstanding athlete.

I think you’re a pretty good student. If you can get recruited you have a pretty good chance of acceptance. Chance back please?

yeah just to clarify
im taking hon chem as a junior and then ap chem as a senior
ap phys as a junior
but yeah in terms of football: i really am just average. i mean i’ll play varsity, but so will 2000 other high school kids. like i would love to play football if i wasnt so busy all the time. but i mean i guess youve gotta push through it for two more years for college. but yeah, i definitely dont wanna play college ball. i just wanna play football to get into college if you feel me. and like what are some ec’s i should be doing then? if my ecs are weak.

If you want to be recruited for football, how about a little insight into your football qualifications as much as academics, because remember you have to impress the coach ON the field. How do you stack up against the current roster for your position based on size and weight? How does being varsity on your team compare to the top teams in your state? Are your a varsity player on a weak team or a really strong player on a state championship team? These are things that will interest any IVY league Coach.

From your post, I’m a little concerned as there seems to be no love of the game. Any D1 sport, or even D2 and D3 requires a major commitment that I dont sense from your post. I have to believe a coach would also read that and take that into consideration (as they are way smarter about recruiting than I am).

Do you want to play football or use football to get into a certain school? Coaches have seen that before.

I don’t think that BlueDevils wants to be recruited for college football. I believe he’s asking whether HS football would give him a useful EC for his college applications or whether he might quit football in lieu of staring a a Math Olympiad team, etc.

yeah gadad’s right.
footballs been fun for me, and ive made firends and ive gotten to know a lot of people who kids in ap classes and science olympiads wouldnt get to know.
but that doesnt matter to me, all that matters is the end result of college.
so football to me is just another stat to put on the sheet. i know to get into the m&t program at upenn youve gotta show your love for math&science, and people who go to HYPSM dont care much for sports, its just another credential to the resume.
so yes, in terms fo the future, i dont care to play football again. i just want to be a normal college kid, get my worke done, get wasted, and do it again.

also, what are some interesting clubs people are involved in which have gotten them into HYPSM?
like red cross and stuff like that doesnt mean anything to anyone.
