To Buy The College T-Shirt Or Not To?

I’m confused as to the traditions of this country when it comes to post-college gift-giving.

I recently got in to my ED school. And to thank the 2 teachers and 1 counselor who “wrote” my recommendations for me, I decided to buy them all very nice boxes of chocolates before Christmas, but now some people have been telling me that I should buy the T-shirts of the college I got into and give it to them.

Here’s my question:

Why would a teacher want a shirt of the college that “I” got into?

Should I give them a T-shirt?

Is this some special tradition that I’m not aware of?

Please tell me what you guys think, anything is appreciated.

I’ve never heard of that, but I’m just a senior

i got into carolina, our school colors: carolina blue and white, so i gave each of my teachers that helped me with my application and scholarships, flowers with carolina blue and white bows and a thankyou card attached.

you could get coffee mugs from the schools for your teachers, ive heard of that too.

I don’t know about t-shirts. I never heard of that before. A small gift would do, maybe related to the college or with the college colors.

Buy them one of those dumbass mugs that says “Three greatest reasons to be a teacher: June, July, and August.”
